Isaac Del Toro wins prologue of the Lidl Deutschland Tour 2026 in Bad Orb
Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emirates XRG) won the prologue of the Lidl Deutschland Tour 2026, taking the overall lead on the opening day of the five-day UCI ProSeries stage race. On the 2.5-kilometre course through the Hessian spa town of Bad Orb, the Mexican rider set the fastest time of the international field, stopping the clock at 3:08 minutes. Paul Magnier (Soudal Quick-Step) finished second, two seconds behind, while his teammate Laurenz Rex (Soudal Quick-Step) completed the podium, conceding five seconds.
On the short and technically demanding course there was little room for error: alongside maximum effort on the fast sections, precision and choosing the right line proved decisive among the favourites, resulting in tight margins throughout. The best-placed German rider was Tobias Müller (Unibet Rose Rockets), tenth at seven seconds. With the win, Isaac Del Toro also took the lead in the general classification and will start Thursday's first road stage wearing the blue leader's jersey.
